Scrooser’s electric scooter has an interesting “pulse” motor in its rear hub, but weighs almost 62 lbs. The motor kicks in once the scooter reaches 2 mph, and will take it to 15.
“A perfect pace for maneuvering through the city among pedestrian filled sidewalks is around 6 mph” the company’s website explains, “but feel free to race cyclists on bike paths at a maximum speed of up to 15 mph.”
An 18-lb. footbike will do the same thing at much less expense and pedestrian panic. Overkill much?
