Open-source alternative to insecure Facebook

diaspora*Everybody loves facebook, right? Not so, and that includes this writer, who likes to maintain some control over his privacy. Sure, you’re probably thinking, with a blog out there? Well, still not everything is out there: how many of you know about my bionic weasel project? Hmm? Hmm? Huh.

Well, four students from NYU’s Courant Institute aim to address the privacy concerns that has put facebook under fire by giving users complete control of their details and content and who they share it with.
