Designer Ryan Mischkulnig has come up with a kind of scooterized skateboard that he says will work well in an urban setting. Addressing a perceived shortcoming of the skateboard, there are brakes, and also differential steering and larger wheels; but an overly mechanical (to my tastes) drive system is imposed.
Some of the illustrations show the outline of a rider superimposed on the machine; I’d like to see a real human tackle an actual prototype.
