FlavOnice race coverage

The race courseOn 4 July, while Americans were eating hot dogs and watching fireworks, Dutch and German kickers were racing at FlavOnice, which in winter is the world’s longest artificial skate track. It’s a beautiful track, where they race anything and everything.

There was a team time trial, a flying-start 800-meter sprint and a 30-km endurance race. In the women’s races, Wenda Zuiddam and Rosanne Reijne were both able to advance in the Dutch National-Cup standings against absent Dutch- and World Champion Hermien Koers.
